🥔 Hungarian Sztrapacska / Halušky Noodles

Ingredients (Serves 4)

For the Noodles (Halušky):

  • 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and grated
  • 1–1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (adjust as needed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Topping:

  • 4 oz (100–120 g) bacon, diced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1–2 cups sauerkraut (optional) or 1–1 1/2 cups bryndza / cottage cheese
