🥮 Ingredients
For the Dough (makes 2 rolls):
- 4 cups (500 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ½ cup (100 g) powdered sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- ¾ cup (180 ml) milk, lukewarm
- 2 tsp instant yeast
- Pinch of salt
For the Fillings: (choose walnut or poppy seed, or make both for tradition)
- Walnut Filling (Diós):
- 2 cups (200 g) ground walnuts
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml) warm milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- Zest of ½ lemon
- Poppy Seed Filling (Mákos):
- 2 cups (200 g) ground poppy seeds
- ½ cup (100 g) sugar
- ½ cup (120 ml) warm milk
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- Zest of ½ lemon
For Brushing:
- 1 egg yolk (for shiny finish)
- 1 egg white (for matte finish)
