
ðŸ‡ðŸ‡º Hungarian Stuffed Peppers in Tomato Sauce (Töltött Paprika)
Ingredients:
For the stuffed peppers:
- 6–8 Hungarian wax peppers (or yellow bell peppers)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground pork (or pork + beef mix)
- ½ cup (100 g) uncooked rice
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp sweet Hungarian paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
For the tomato sauce:
- 3 tbsp oil or lard
- 2 tbsp flour (for roux)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 4 cups (1 L) tomato purée (or passata)
- 2 cups (500 ml) water (or broth)
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt & pepper to taste
