Ingredients:
- 2 lbs (900 g) sour cherries (fresh or frozen, pitted)
- 4 cups (1 L) water
- 1 cup (200 g) sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 3โ4 whole cloves
- 1 strip lemon peel (or a few slices of lemon)
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream (or half sour cream, half heavy cream for richness)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional, for thickening)
