Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp lard or vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ lbs (700 g) pork (shoulder or tenderloin), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
  • ½ tsp hot paprika (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, chopped (or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
  • ½ lb (250 g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp flour (optional, for thickening)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
